Convenors.
The SIG meets on the third
Wednesday of each month (except December and
January) at 6:00 pm to 9.00pm.
Some of us eat out a
local eatery after the meeting.
The Hardware SIG meets
to discuss PC hardware from the chip level right through to complete
networks.
We are running 'intensive' hands-on sessions on the
4th Sunday of each month 10.00am to 4.00pm (except December and January) to
trouble-shoot and fix or simply advise on Members
equipment. MelbPC members are welcome to bring any hardware
related questions to the SIG.
Members are invited to
bring their computers to the SIG for information and/or help about
hardware and software related problems. Please bring ALL your
hardware and ALL your related documentation AND
Software..!
- This will greatly assist everybody concerned.
(Please check the meeting calendar for complete details).
We very occasionally may have a
presentation or a guest speaker. A very brief question and answer
session is followed by the main emphasis, - the Hardware Clinic.
Please note :- ALL information and hardware assistance is given free of charge, on a best endeavour basis. We do NOT guarantee that we can fix, or alleviate your particular problem(s). YOU alone accept or reject the information offered and YOU must accept TOTAL responsibilty for the outcome(s).
The earlier time change
will enable those with problem systems to setup
and get started asap. Members
are invited to bring their questions &/or
hardware to our meetings for advice and assistance. I suggest
that any members attending use a supermarket trolley to wheel their
equipment into the lift and up to our club rooms.
Sunday Workshop Day:-
We will be also running
a Hardware Workshop on
the 4th Sunday of every month at the MelbPC Chadstone premises.
(Except December and January..)
We aim to give assistance to all members with computer problems. While
our focus is on hardware related problems we also find ourselves
assisting in software and
device driver problems.
Members _MUST_ advise by phone or email if
attending. A brief description of problems and equipment
would be appreciated. This will enable extra Volunteers to be pressed
into service if needed. :-)
The
Network Room is an
ideal location for those members with the older
dialup service to bring their systems for a direct connection to the
internet so as to use Windows
Update more quickly.
A network card is required (most boards include network cards these
days) or we can help you fit one if you buy one from any of the
Computer Markets etc.
